A powerful NLP method used to get into a positive state is Chaining Anchors. This is best used when your present state is a long ways off from your ultimate desired state.
Definition of an anchor:
Anytime anyone is in an intense state, and at the peak of that experience, if a specific stimulus is applied, then the two are linked neurologically. Anchoring can assist you in gaining access to past states, and linking the past state to the present.
You anchor the 2 or more steps between procrastination and motivation, creating a logical chain. In quick succession, you arrive at your preferred state very quickly, almost instantly. Because the chain is logical, your brain is more apt to accept the changes too.
When this works, you’ll feel very different about the situation than you did just a few minutes ago and you will find yourself truly motivated!
There are two broad groups that the majority emotions can be placed under: Empowering and Dis-empowering. Which emotion group you choose to use can determine your future success. To empower is to give someone the authority to do something, and in this case, to use empowering emotions puts your own self into a position of authority. Empowering yourself means having the right kind of confidence. Dis-empowering emotions do the exact opposite: take away your authority from yourself. Your own life path and success can be determined by which emotion path you choose.
The Science of Empowering and Dis-empowering Emotions
Science has proven that emotions give out vibrations, vibrations that are similar to the levels that atoms vibrate at. Positive, empowering emotions tend to create a stronger vibration that extends past the body. These emotions can be felt by those around you, and your empowering emotions will turn into a sphere of attraction. Negative, dis-empowering emotions vibrate at such a low level that it causes the sphere of attraction around you to be non-existent. People tend to repel and cast away things that they don't wish to feel, even if it's not them who is feeling it.
Types of Empowering Emotions:
Love, passion, happiness, confidence, enthusiasm, etc.
These emotions give off a vibe that says "high energy individual" and "smart individual". People generally want to be around those who seem to be enjoying their life because emotions tend to resonate between two or more bodies communicating.
Types of Dis-empowering Emotions:
Anger, Sadness, Fear, Hurt, Guilt, Jealousy, Irritation, Resentment, Pain, etc.
Think about the rants you hear coming from hate groups and organizations. You would watch them rant about the things they resent, and you would resent them for their anger towards whatever they were ranting against. This would repel you from the hate group almost immediately. There's a reason that hate groups don't go far in the world. Most people don't want anything to do with such negativity. Dis-empowering emotions only attract other dis-empowering emotions. In order to reach to the broader crowd, the majority (who are generally positive), these negative emotions need to be discharged.
Sometimes, you look around at specific members of society who thrive and live life to the fullest and form the idea that "I want to be exactly like them" instead of being yourself. If you keep that mindset, then you will prevent yourself from thriving as an individual, because if you attempt to thrive as someone you are not, the YOU inside of yourself will not benefit from fueling the personality you stole from someone else.
Everyone strives for perfection, but the perfect you is the unstoppable and powerful you, and not anyone else. Being yourself is something you are born with, and being someone else is something you will never be able to achieve. The best chance you have at success is to embrace and expand on what you already are.
Just because you're yourself and not another person doesn't mean you can't improve yourself. Self improvement is the best thing a person can do for themselves. If you're going through a stage in your life where you feel uncomfortable in your own skin, don't take another's skin, improve your own. Therefore, you can change yourself for the better, and remain authentic to your true self.
People cherish individuality, take for example: Shakespeare, Leonardo Da Vinci, Alexander the Great, all those timeless icons, all can be identified as undeniable individuals. Their individual ideals, their individual personalities, their individuality is what created their success.
If you want to be the admired, you need to cherish who you are and expand on the personality you were born with. The opportunities are endless when you expand upon yourself. You can be anything, have anything, and do anything as long as you set YOUR OWN mind to the opportunity.
A cause is defined as to why something happens and an effect is defined as to what happens because of the cause. When it comes to neuro linguistic programming, cause and effect lets us know how we go about living our lives. Neuro linguistic programming is in fact the study of the mind and how we are all wired. When it comes to cause and effect, you are either a person who lives at cause or at effect.
A person who lives at cause takes full responsibility for their life and everything in it. They know that if things aren't going right, it's no one's fault but their own. They never blame others for their misfortunes and know that they have a choice in everything in their lives. They work hard to get what they want and to have the things they have.
A person who lives at effect is just the opposite of an at cause individual. At effectors believe that any and everything that happens to them is no direct fault of their own. Sadly, most people are at effectors. We tend to blame others and never take responsibility for our shortcomings or our lives in general. Though others can effect things that happen to us, some direct and some indirect, it is our job to change things. At effectors feel they are victims when in actuality, they are just as capable as at causers to make choices in life, take responsibility, and change their way of thinking to better themselves.
Cause is greater than effect because we all have the opportunity to personally change things for ourselves. Without a cause, they will be no effect. Learning to accept life and the choices that have been made by you thus far to get you to where you are, embracing those the choices and your situations, and moving forward will help at effectors become at causers.

Your attitude will go a long way toward determining your results. The attitude you put out is exactly what you will get back.
What sort of an attitude do you have? Are you expecting good things to happen? Are you expecting bad things? Most people start their day in neutral and simply react to what happens to them. They let other people and events determine how they feel and what they do. Unfortunately, when you let other people determine your life, it’s rarely satisfying.
Determine your own life. If you aren't satisfied with your results, the first thing to check is your attitude. Do you treat people the way you wish they would treat you? Do you expect good things to happen? Do you always give your best effort?
The first step to a great attitude toward events and people is a great attitude toward life in general. Here is a good starting point. When you wake up tomorrow, think about what you are happy about in your life. If nothing else comes immediately to mind, think about the fact that you woke up and have another day to enjoy - it’s better than the other option. The simple act of being grateful for the things in your life will improve your attitude immensely. And when you take control of your attitude you take control of your life.
